The replaceable communication module (metkom) is designed for the AIST A100H and AIST A300H electricity meters.
The module is used for remote meter readings. It is installed in a special slot in the meter housing and then sealed.
The module transmits data from the meter to the server via NB-IoT and 2G networks. A SIM card is required for the NB-IoT+2G module to operate. Subscription fees for communication services are charged by mobile operators.
The NB-IoT+2G module is suitable for use in remote areas with unstable 3G and 4G coverage—modern cellular communication standards with higher data transfer rates.
The communication module is flexible in operation: it can be reconfigured if cellular coverage improves.
